Further informal discussions were held yesterday between the LGA, Employers Organisation, ODPM officals and the unions. Although some progress has been made, particularly in relation to modifying the LGA's alleged cost of revocation and measures which might deal with that cost.
There is still some way to go to get the principles of the PSF deal applied to the LGPS and we convinced the employers of the need for adequate time for negotiation and that the Rule of 85 does not need to be removed from 1st April 2006.
Some of you may have heard a short afternoon Radio 4 report yesterday which suggested that talks may have broken down. This is not the case.
