More than a million people will take strike action again over pensions in a region by region rolling programme on 25th, 26th and 27th April 2006.
Although there are some TUC brokered talks underway in a fresh effort to slove the dispute, the planned joint union regional action is set to go ahead.

UNISON general secretary Dave Prentis said "Our members and members of ten other public service unions are fed up with being denied equal treatment over pensions.  "All they want is the same protections that have been offered to every other public sector workers".

The rolling programme will see every UNISON region take part over the three days in the following order:

25th April:   South east, Eastern, South West and Greater London

26th April :  Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

27th April    Northern, North West, York and Humberside, East and West Midlands.

Dave Prentis added, "We are in this for the long-term.  This rolling action os part of a campaign of sustained and varying industrial action.  We still hope we can reach an agreement.  UNISON has always wanted a negotaited solution but we are ready to defend our members pension rights.

This  will be an all out strike for Hertfordshire affecting all services.  We will be sending out information on the next strike to take place on Tuesday 25th April at the end of this week.
