There were meaniful discussions on the possible terms of the package and agreement was reached on the establishment of the working party looking at modernisation of pay arrangements in the sector.  It was agreed that the group would have its first meeting in January and that it will produce an interim report to the 6th Form Colleges NJC in July 2006.

UNISON expressed its frustration that a settlement could not yet be reached as the delay is likely to caryy forward the payment of any increase into the New Year.

A further meeting of the teachers negotiating committee takes place today and a further meeting of the suppot staff committee will take place on 11th December.  We will keep you informed of any developments.
